Nelson Island on the Sunshine Coast

Nile Point Retreat is located on the eastern end of Nelson Island | ayl’-khain, on the Sunshine Coast of BC. The Retreat is accessible by a 10-15 minute boat ride from Egmont. Transportation to and from the campsite is included in the price of accommodation.

Nelson Island sits just between the north and south portions of the Sunshine Coast, in the traditional territory of the shíshálh Nation. With only a handful of summer cabins, the island is barely inhabited, and there are no public amenities on the island—it’s truly an escape for those who want to get off the grid.

Guests will be picked up from the Government Wharf located in Egmont (see below) which is located 6km from the campsite. There is free parking near the Government Wharf. . There is a charge for additional trips to and from Egmont beyond pickup and drop-off. Egmont offers a pub, a fancy restaurant, a charming convenience store with wi-fi and a delicious bakery.

The trip from Vancouver to Egmont take approximately 3 hours (2 hours driving, 1 hour ferry ride)
